About us

We currently make our home in Nottinghamshire, England along with our little Staffordshire Bull Terrier (Leah who will have her own page soon) and our cudley Lovebird (Chirpy who will also have her own page soon). We are both 50+ years young although Russ loves to remind me that I am 6 months older than him. He has been quoted as referring to himself as a "toy boy".

How We Met

• We met online using ICQ in a most peculiar way. First, let me say that we were NOT looking for a relationship. I rarely looked into the "free for chat" place but sometimes looked at profiles just to see how folks described themselves. It was always a laugh waiting there. However, NEVER contacted people in this way.
   
• On this particular day I was about to prepare dinner but thought I would sit down and read my email and for some reason jumped over to the profiles. For those of you who are not familiar with this, it is the place you can contact people if you see a profile you like. After reading a dozen or so, I saw Russ's profile which the exact wording escapes me but something about it just made me say "hi" - he said "hi" back... The rest is history.
   
• From his point of view, he NEVER kept himself visible and thus would not have been available normally using this method of contact. For some reason he was visible that moment and he said "hi" back... The rest is history.
   
• It is safe to say that we had an immediate attraction to each other and talked that first time for seven hours, the next night for six hours, and never missed a day since talking to each other which eventually led to me going to England to meet him in person... I fell in love with him and  January 8, 2000, was the beginning of him and me...
